Sebastian Castro Bubble Art Exhibit at Big Bad Wolf, Taguig

Remember him?

After gracing as an ambassador for equality, unity and acceptance at the recent 12th White Party Manila, the American-born Peruvian-Japanese model and actor Sebastian Castro will show us the other side of him—his passion for arts.

Born in Long Island, New York, Sebastian has learned to live independently after he was disowned by his parents at the of age 17 on account of his sexuality. He worked hard to continue his education and got a scholarship at Savannah College of Arts and Design.

Over the years, Sebastian has traveled a lot to pursue his singing and acting career, took on different genres from performing to visual arts, and modeling. He was among the 69 Hot Bachelors who were featured on Philippine Cosmopolitan Bachelor Bash in 2011 and got several major product endorsements in South East Asia.

Sebastian was part of the indie film Residencia in 2004 and landed a pivotal role in an international film by Danny Cheng Wan-Cheung, Voyage (2013).

In a complicated world of social media, it's easy to think what people have is exactly as it appears. Influence. Judgements. Opinions. But sometimes, all it takes is a little key to open some doors. And with Sebastian Castro, his first art exhibit here in the Philippines.

Even Pablo Picasso knows it all too well, “You don't make art, you find it.”

On July 4-17, witness as Sebastian Castro unveils his art pieces to the public in a hole-in-the-wall restaurant-cum-bar, Big Bad Wolf

The venue adopts the look of an up-market Brooklyn loft and the sensibility of an art gallery: high, "unfinished" ceilings marked by exposed beams, tall glass walls lining one side, a collection of quirky, hipster-ish paintings on another.

“I paint people, only people. You can expect every color in the palette I touch to be as free as me. This exhibit is an artistic representation of BUBBLES—both literal and figurative.”, said Sebastian Castro.

His art pieces are in pastel on board. It ranges from dimension 15” x 20” and three large scale 30” x 40.” All his bubble art pieces will be for sale while on the exhibit.

Sebastian will grace the opening night at 7:30pm on the 4th of July and he will be back the following Thursday, 11th of July. His exhibit will run from July 4-17, 2013.

To all sneakers collectors and shoe-art lovers, limited edition shoes personally painted by Sebastian Castro, in partnership with NJ Sneakers will also be sold. NJ Sneakers is owned by young entrepreneur Neil John Paras, who has been supporting the Filipino artist in all his business ventures. He is also a co-owner of Big Bad Wolf.

The Big Bad Wolf is located at the ground floor of Fairways Tower, 5th Avenue corner McKinley Road, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig. Opens from  Mondays to Saturdays, 5pm to 2am.
